Cap tops have the function of keeping an air tight seal around the print heads while the printer is in standby. Over time, the the rubber edges of the cap top become worn. This allows air to reach the bottom of the print head, drying out the nozzles. This usually results in missing colors and/or nozzles. If your experiencing banding, colors missing, nozzles out, or ink will not remain in the line after many cleaning attempts, don't keep wasting ink, replace your cap tops.
