Polyurethane Nylon insulation is made with Urethane resins produced as a smooth, uniform film, with an additional Nylon overcoat to improve abrasion resistance and heat-shock characteristics. HPN is suitable for continuous service up to 130 C. HPN film will withstand excessive elongation without rupture making it an ideal insulation type for smaller magnet wire gauges. HPN insulation is solderable at 390 C during termination without stripping or it may be mechanically stripped using fine sandpaper.
