Kenwood T599D transmitter ssb t-599D

Fresh from a local estate is a nice, used Kenwood Mdl T-599D SSB transmitter. I was told that this radio worked just fine when last used...about a year ago. It has been stored in its original box/s since (see photo). No microphone or other accessories included. I plugged the radio in, switched it on and it powered/lit up. Other than this I cannot guarantee that everything works since I have no means to test it.
I have included many photos and some information that I have found on the internet. One thing that I have learned is that this is a well built and quality transmitter that is easily maintained. The outside looks great. All looks good except the "SEND/STNBY" switch is broken. There is still plenty of the switch protruding to operate it easily.
I am not sure of the age of the transmitter, however there is a "Nov, 16 1978" Post Office stamp on the big box. This model transmitter was made between the years of 1976 and 1979.
Please note: "All the technical information provided in this listing has been obtained from various sources on the internet, and from a PDF version of the Operaters Manual. I have no experience with this electronic item, nor do I claim to have any technical knowledge of how to use or maintain it."
