This is a 28 pin surface mount microcontroller which clocks at up to 40 MHz with a crystal and its internal 4 x PLL. It also has 2 external RC modes and an internal RC oscillator block, providing clock rates from 32 MHz down to 31 KHz in binary steps. It has a fail safe clock monitor which switches to a back up clock on primary clock failure. It has 64 KB of flash program RAM, 3968 bytes of SRAM for data, and 1 KB of EEPROM, for non-volatile storage. The user can select up to 10 analogue input channels to be multiplexed to its onboard 10 bit ADC. It supports SPI, IIC and EUSART serial data modes, has 2 analogue comparators, one 8 bit and 3 16 bit timers. It has three 8 bit ports and one 1 bit port. However, due to functional overlaying of almost all I/O pins not all of these analogue and digital I/O facilities are simultaneously available. It is supported by C, Fortran and Basic compilers. We prefer to program it in Basic.
The chip comes in a SOIC 28 package.
This is CMOS, therefore it is static-sensitive.
