General Description/Specs UPGRADE
This board was taken from a working 54720A/D. I replaced the Lithium battery and then loaded the final revisions firmware rev 4.07 for the 54720A/D. This firmware includes the latest including FFT, Mask test, Limit test, and histograms. If you have the 54710A or 54720 A/D the firmware will work for you. See the pictures to see key locations and functions. See the pictures for key labels on the new functions.
Earlier released instruments did not have these features.
Note! If you replace the processor board in your system, you will need to recalibrate. Be aware that a special plug-in, the 54717A is required for calibration.
Note! The processor board hardware is common to the 54720A/D, 54750A, and the 83480A, BUT The firmware/software must be loaded for the particular you have. You can use this hardware for any of the three s, but you will will need a floppy with the operating system software to load the 54750A or 83480A. The 54720 is already loaded.
