This is a Brevel Gear Motor Model 'R.' This has about a 1:22 reduction ratio, and is a low voltage DC motor-probably 12 to 24 volt. This measures about 6 in. long including the two shafts-the face of the gear unit measures 2 7/8 by 3 in.-the motor housing is 1 3/8 by 3 in.-the output shaft measures 1/4 in. I hooked this up to a DC power supply and this works just fine-it has a lot of torque for it's size, and works in pulses-it revolves rather quickly and pauses momentarily before turning completely again.
