600 watt wind generator turbine motor + hub + arbor

NEW PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTOR/GENERATOR
EXCELLENT LOW WIND CAPABILITIES
The 5-blade hub that comes with this generator is designed to fit Windy Nation Inc. s TurboTorque blades. For this generator, these blades perform absolutely excellent. All the video footage below shows the performance of this unit with five Windy Nation TurboTorque blades. The blades can be purchased from WindyNation and you check them out:
Windy Nation's TurboTorque Blades
(You can also get a 30 amp charge controller, a 40 amp stud diode and a 300 Watt dump load, and a tail. With these items you can quickly turn your generator into a wind generator.)
If you have been searching for the perfect motor/generator and blade combo for your wind generator project, this is it. When used with five Windy Nation TurboTorque blades, I guarantee the performance claimed in this listing and the videos in this listing. If the unit does not perform as stated, I will refund 100% of your money!
The motor/generator has the following specifications:
- Dimensions: 8.25" long, 4.375" dia. Shaft is 1.5" long with 5/8" dia.
This motor/generator has a very low cut in rpm. The cut in rpm refers to the rpm s required for the unit to start charging a battery bank. To start charging a battery bank, a generator MUST be producing a voltage that is higher than the voltage of the battery bank. For a 12 volt battery bank, this is approximately 13.5 volts and for a 24 volt battery bank this is approximately 26 volts. With five TurboTorque blades, this generator will start charging a 12 volt battery bank in consistent 6-8 mph winds. It will start charging a 24 volt battery bank in about 9-11 mph wind.
Technically this motor/generator is rated for 2000 Watts (power = volts x amps) but you will never see that much energy going into your battery bank. And anyone who tells you differently is lying. In stiff winds you will probably see about 300-400 Watts into a 12 volt battery bank and around 600 Watts into a 24 volt battery bank.
Many people ask how a 150 volt motor/generator can be used on a 12 or 24 volt battery bank without harming the battery bank. The answer is simple. The battery bank acts as a very large load compared to the wind generator. For this reason, the battery bank clamps the voltage of the generator at the voltage of the battery bank. Simply put, the voltage of the generator will never exceed the voltage of the battery bank when it (the wind generator) is hooked up to the battery.
All the items in the pictures are included (See bottom of listing for the pictures):
2. One 5/8 inch arbor with nut
3. One 5-blade stainless steel hub (designed to fit Windy Nation Inc. TurboTorque blades).
4. One U-bolt with plastic cover for securing the generator to your mount
A note on # 3 above: You will receive a stainless steel hub or a powder coated black stainless steel hub. This depends on what is in stock. The hubs are identical except one is powder coated and the other is not. Both hubs have excellent strength and corrosion resistance.
Manufacturer s suggested retail price for only the motor/generator (no hub and arbor included) is 294 dollars! Again, everything included in this listing is brand new.
This first video starts off with the generator being held out of the wind using a rope tied to the tail of the generator. Once the camera is focused on the voltmeter, the rope is released and the wind generator is allowed to turn into the wind. The generator quickly climbs to ~30 volts using five TurboTorque blades. Also, notice how quiet the blades are! The wind is blowing about 9-12 mph with some 14 mph gusts.
The second video shows some more footage of this generator blowing in 9-12 mph wind with 14 mph gusts. The generator makes very good voltage in average winds with TurboTorque blades.
The magnets inside the generator are big and strong.
U-bolt with plastic cover for securing the generator to your mount (very convenient).
