These shelves are very heavy duty, and made for use in a retail bookstore. I bought them used from a major chain bookstore that closed a
local store, and have used them in my own small store for 3 years. I'm selling some extras that I've had in storage, that are identical to the ones in the pictures.
These shelves are made of a wood or wood composite material completely covered with smooth wipe-clean laminate. These are gondola shelves with two sides. Each side has pre-attached adjustable shelf supports, and will come with four moveable shelves. The shelves are trimmed with a wood-look laminate, most in a medium oak finish. Each shelf will include three adjustable supports.
The shelves have slatwall on both ends, so can be used next to each other or as exposed endcaps for displaying signs, books, or whatever you like. If you have some slatwell shelves it will also support more books. These shelves are all a light tan color inside and out. The slat wall grooves have brown inserts.
Outside is 48" wide x 24" deep x 64.5" high. The depth is the thickness of the entire two-faced unit, including both sides.
Inside dimension of each shelf is 45.5" x 9" deep.
They are very heavy! At least 150 pounds per unit including the shelves and hardware.
They are used and will show some scratches and scuffs. The laminate may have some chips. The hardware is made of thick welded steel and each piece is painted white. The paint on most of these is scratched and chipped, but they remain functional and can be repainted.
Very sturdy. They will hold many heavy books and create a great deal of storage. Each shelf has a black base that is permanently attached and about 4" high.
New commercial units like these cost about $1,200-1,400 each. These work well placed end to end to form a row, with one side turned to the wall, individually in open areas, or placed zig-zag or in a "t" shape with each other. You will find them to be durable, easy to clean, and very nice looking. I'd love to take them home to store my personal books, but don't have the room.
