Dc/dc converter, 9V battery replacement

this dc/dc converter PCB can power blue, or white LEDs from a single 1.2v battery,
as well PIC microcontroller without any further regulators.
the input voltage can be as low as 1v, upto 5 volts.
at 2.4 volts, no-load voltage is nearly 20 volts. the short-circuit current at 5.0 volts is 7mA (Z-diode).
this means, the output current is limited, and will drop down to less than 5 volts, if for instance a microcontroller is connected.
on-board, there is only a 100nF capacitor, so the microcontroller will not be damaged from the short high-voltage pulse*
at 1.2 volts, no-load voltage is less than 5 volts.
the current (and the no-load battery current) can also be regulated using a 10k variable resistor on the PCB.

you get the schematic as well!
*you can provide means that the dc/dc converter is always connected to the circuit, and the battery circuit is switched (power-on switch), so there will never be any high-voltage pulse. however, due to the small capacitor, this also will not damage the LEDs or the circuit.
if you need 6.2 volts Z-diodes, I also have them available, to prevent any high-voltage pulse. just write a note together with your order.
