1000# gorbel 10X30 bridge crane+lodestar hoist 2-speed

1000# Gorbel 10 by 30 Free-Standing Overhead Bridge Crane with CM Lodestar Electric Hoist.
* Dual 500 pound bridges for 1000# total capacity
* 33 feet of rail the long direction for 30 feet of travel
* 8' hook height as shown-could be about 9' if assembled right
* Includes 2-speed Lodestar electric chain hoist as show
* Easily extended if you need more length of travel
CONDITION: Looks is very good and relatively complete (we did not take it apart at the firm where we got it-so we might not have gotten some minor parts). Did not get much use by original owner. Works great-both hoist and x and y movement.
This unit is often used as a work station crane to move material and tooling between tools as shown in the brochure above.
Gorbel Work Station Bridge Cranes
What we got was a pile of metal and parts. We figured it would be a lot easier to explain what you get by connecting the parts together as shown in this extensive collection of images. This units are normally used inside but we did not have a large enough empty indoor space to put it up easily. It was taken back down immediately after these images were taken.
Each yellow bridge trolley is rated for 500 pounds, so 2 of them linked together with the assembly shown gives you 1000 pound capacity.
The hoist control has a scratched face but it operates just fine. Push harder for the faster speed.
The yellow power cord shown is included. It is not currently connected to anything. We don't know if it is enough for all possible positions.
The label on each bridge section says SS-99002
Note that this is a 2-speed hoist at 8 and 2.5 feet per minute. It needs 230 volts 3 phase.
The hoist has plenty of travel as shown by the hook laying down on its side in the image above. The image below shows the bottom of the hook at 97". If we had assembled the frame differently the distance under the hook would have been about 9 feet.
The distance to the bottom of the unit the hoist hooks to is 10 feet as shown above. It would be about 11 feet if assembled differently. The distance to the bottom of the yellow bridge rails is about 11.5 feet as shown below.
The tallest part as assembled is about 152 inches as shown above. If the cross beam shown below were mounted under the tube instead, the lifting height would increase by about 6". If riser blocks were used up so that the cross beam were just above the long rails, about another 6" would be gained.
The support legs are about 12 feet wide as shown above. They are about 30 feet the other way (with mid support between). Our tape measure was only 25 feet so the image below is the second view. The long direction rails extend beyond the 30 foot distance at each end so you actually get about 30 feet of travel.
There seems to be a spare rail extension connection as shown above. If you needed more travel, this is how you would add on another section.
The way we assembled this, there is just a bit over 7 feet of travel in the short direction. It appears that if the unit were assemled slightly differently, this could be increased by a couple feet.
We did get a little documentaion with this unit. Shown here are the factory prints specific to this unit.
These images show some of the factory parts and accessoies that are available from the factory.
This might be just what you need for your work station bridge crane application.
