This sensor has a 3:1 field of view. ie. at 3" in front of the sensor, the spot size is 1" in diameter.
The output is a standard J type signal that can be fed into a process meter with J t/c input.
These sensors are not linear like a standard t/c, so they have a target temperature that is quite linear.
This one is for a target at 240F
Even though it's not as linear as a standard thermocouple, the error is still only 2% throughout the range:
