STARRETT - WEBBER OPTICAL HEIGHT GAUGE MODEL 61
You are viewing a L.S. Starrett-Webber Optical Height Gauge Model 61. This height gauge was built in 1973 and appears to be in good usable condition.
It is 60 tall and it has a Lietz measuring microscope for reading the scales.
We have gotten a copy of the operations manual from Starrett which explains its usage. It requires an outside light source which originally was provided by Starrett, but we do not have it.
There are 5 scales to use which are explained in the operations manual.
We know nothing of the history of this height gauge. We believe the unit can be retrofitted with a digital readout system.
When this height gauge was built, it is believed that the selling price was in the proximity of $35,000.00. The Model 61 is still being built today but is called a Digichek and sells for approximately $16,000.00 - $17,000.00.
