On offer is one lot of 10 new subminiature trimmer capacitors by Murata.
These are very small parts, probably classed as SMD but they do have (flat) leads rather than solder pads. The metal parts are gold plated and the body is ceramic.
In typical Murata style, the package labelling is cryptic ...
None of these numbers match any I can find on the Murata site currently, and the case style is not pictured in their brochure, so the information below is from my measurements.
Physically they have a 2mm diameter, are 2mm high, with 4mm long leads.
As measured on my Peak Atlas LCR meter, capacitance varies from ~1pF to ~15pF through 180 degrees rotation of the 'screw' slot with a small screwdriver. However, the minimum capacitance may be a little higher, 2pf perhaps, due to measurement uncertainty.
They appear to be very well made, probably for use at high frequencies (UHF+) with a high Q. Useful for trimming filters and oscillators. Easily mounted on microstrip pcb transmission lines.
A chance to pick up a useful qty to play with, starting at a reasonable price ...
RFPlus is a hobbyist with far too many components, accumulated over years of experimentation and development work, mostly in Australia.
Now located in the Southwest of England, UK ... the fishing town of Looe to be more precise ... I'm hoping to make a serious effort to dispose of the bulk of my electronic parts collection ... too many projects, too little time ... .
