These are mounts for attaching a Nema 23 stepper motor to a harbor freight rotary table. http:// /cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=98077 There are two designs depending on your situation. Each will be explained below. Both are machined from high quality 1/4" PVC. These are very stiff and strong. Suitable for microstepping applications. Both come fully assembled. No drilling, cutting, or any modifications of the table or motor are required. I'm using the long version as the 4th axis of my CNC machine. I can get up to 1 rotation/second of the table. You get the choice of long or short version. The Short Version is the one with the motor coaxial to the table, and Long Version is the one requiring a belt.
1. Great for situations where the motor can extend through the bottom of your machine, giving the minimum z clearance requirements. Only problem is that it is more difficult to securely attach the table as the mounts will then be on the back and the top, or potentially the back and one of the sides.
2. Comes with index encoder wheel, and a machined mount for a cheap H21A1 optical interrupter.
3. Shaft coupling is the only other component you will need. I made one out of polyethylene tubing and some clamps.
1. If you can't get the motor out of the bottom of your machine, this will have less z clearance requirements than the short version.
2. Easier to mount to your machine. Mounting face will be located on the bottom.
3. Requires two synchronous pulleys and a belt. Can be any size up to 1" in diameter. I recommend using 12 tooth XL gearbelt pullies and a 60 tooth belt. The nominal belt spacing is designed for this.
4. Integrated belt tensioner allows up 1/2" motion.
