The scales use the etched glass refractive light method chosen by all professional machine shops. They are housed in sealed aluminum extrusions with a neoprene seal . The cables are nearly 10 feet long and are protected by metal shields. The connections to the display are by 6 pin screw-on connectors for vibration free connections.
Each scale has oblong holes in the ends for adjustability during installation.
The display has a die cast housing with rubber pads for slip free positioning. There are also tapped holes in the base for permanent mounting. The long scale cables ( nearly 10' ) allow you to mount the display in any number of locations.
The display has a standard computer style AC power plug, and can run on either 110 or 220 volts- 50/60 HZ
Internally it has a memory backup to retain settings in the event of a power outage.
The rear panel also houses a replaceable fuse for surge protection.
There is a main power on/off switch on the rear which powers the internal circuitry. On the front is another on/off switch which controls the LED displays.
The front panel has a membrane protected keyboard for the many functions.
The display used bright LED's for easy reading in all light conditions.
Preset and Recall- input a value and repeat it continuously
Half function- divide any value by 2
Inch/Metric- Convert from Inch to Metric values
Absolute and Incremental positional
Bolt hole circles- Program bolt hole circles and multiple bolt hole circles
Resolution setting- choose 0.002", 0.0002", 0.0004" or 0.00004" settings
Direction change- set plus or minus direction
Rate of Correction- Adjust for errors in machine
Program reset- Delete data and return to default settings
Testing- Diagnostics of display functions
Lathe summing- Add values of 2 axes
Double counting- Set for diameter turning
Tool offsets- Assign length values to multiple tools
