High-Power Constant Current Integrated Diode Laser System With Controller
Ideal for direct thermal applications in graphic arts, material processing, soldering, medical imaging, display production, plastics cutting, etc.
This is a very sophisticated laser unit designed to provide ultimate safety and reliability. It comprises excellent temperature and power control. We purchased this unit from a flat-panel TV research center that went bankrupt, with the intention to use it for a similar purpose (sealing of vacuum flat panels, but made for photon detection). It was barely used. And, we have never used either, because we have developed an innovative low-temperature sealing method that has worked particularly well. We are now selling surplus equipment to release some space, and this beautiful laser must unfortunately go.
TESTED (see Photo 5) - The bright spot on the light blue background is the laser beam coming from the optical fiber bundle on the right, as seen by a CCD camera (note that this beam is practically invisible to the human eye, yet even a very low level of reflected light, just like in this Photo, may blind you. Our test was done in an isolated chamber).
* OUTPUT: 15 Watts at the end of the fiber SMA905 connector with AR coating
* WAVELENGTH: 795 nm - 980 nm.
* CONTROLLER UNIT (Photos 2 and 3): A genuine OPC unit that attaches to the back of the laser body with a cable and a D-connector. Note that the controller has the "Aiming Beam" option, while this particular laser unit does not.

Please make sure that you understand what this laser actually is, and how much damage it can create the eyes and skin in a very short time. The laser beam of about 810 nm is practically invisible (apart from some purple glow that you better never try to see), it penetrates the eye all the way to retina and literally boils it. This laser beam can blind people at a very large distance, even if it is reflected from surfaces that you would consider black. It is a fire hazard. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO POWER UP THE UNIT BEFORE YOU HAVE THOROUGHLY READ THE MANUAL. USE APPROPRIATE SECURITY MEASURES AND EQUIPMENT. GOOGLE FOR MORE INFORMATION. STUDY OTHER PEOPLE'S MISTAKES. NOTE THAT EVEN VERY EXPERIENCED EXPERTS AT UNIVERSITIES AND IN NATIONAL LABS REGULARLY CAUSE MAJOR ACCIDENTS. STUDY THOSE CASES. THIS IS EVERYTHING BUT A TOY!
