Soldering irons touch the most sensitive components in your electronics assemblies. If the iron is not grounded properly components may be exposed to overvoltage that can cause severe damage and affect reliability of the product. In addition, metal tools such as tweezers and screwdriver bits can also induce significant overvoltage to the circuit. Iron Man (P/N CTC330WW) will detect every occurrence so that the corrective action can be immediately applied. Connect the overvoltage input to any ground plane connection on the board with the supplied alligator connector. Every time there is a dangerous EOS exposure, the operator will be instantly informed via audio and visual alarms. Additionally, the board itself will be reliably grounded via a 1MW resistor inside the unit. Iron Man Plus (P/N CTC331WW) adds complete monitoring of the entire workbench, wrist strap and dissipative mat. Operator is monitored for proper connectivity and for excessive body voltage, and mat is monitored for proper connectivity. It s also a great tool to monitor floor mats.
