The heal enters the die first before the shearing radius.
This feature aligns the punch and prevents kick back and wear
The Punch and Die have been ground sharp
Flats have been ground into the punch
to retain it in the punch holder
Note that the punch has been ground back a slight bit on both sides above the cutting edge but does not interfere with the radius cutting dimension.
