This German unit has been recognized as one of the highest quality gear checkers built worldwide.
Note the endorsement from Eclipse Pioneer Bendix Corp (click on bottom picture) they had over 50 units. Amongst other products they manufactured directional gyros for aircraft and missiles.
At one time they had over fifty of these gear checkers.
The unit appears to be in new condition.
Remove the HommelWerke one ten thousandths indicator, bubble wrap, place in small box inside the main box. Unit has 4 tapped holes underneath. We would cut an approximate 20 x 20 x 3/8 platform, screw 2 bolts up from underneath into the existing tapped holes that are in the bottom of the instrument casting to hold it from shifting. Bubble wrap inside one carton and then put whole assembly in larger carton stuffed with styrafoam chunks.
Note: The marks on the left hand near side of the ways are not imperfections. It is the manufacturers serial number.
