Yikes! What you see is actually the giant ball with a plastic cap over it. These ballpoints are so cool they come equipped with tiny plastic caps, usually afforded only to gel pens. But these caps do not just slide off like gel cartridge caps - the caps are molded onto the ball points, as if they were dipped in molten plastic after production.
This means you have to work the covering off with your thumbnail.
It also means these fantastic pens are SEALED. The ink remains factory fresh until you peel away the cap. So if you bought this cool lot of three, you could crack one open now, and save the others for as long as you want until needed.
