This locator traces the path and determines the depth of wires and metallic pipes on active or dead systems without having to deactivate the system. The lightweight receiver provides audible and visual indications of signal strength. The transmitter output and receiver sensitivity are fully adjustable for maximum accuracy. The Transmitter offers three methods of connection: Direct, the Inductive Coupler (optional), and the Inductive Antenna. The High frequency transmitter provides for a range of up to 4000 feet and depths of 7 feet. Requires 8AA batteries and 1-9 Volt battery. This locator comes complete with all of the original accessories shown in the stock photos including the instruction manual (hardcopy or pdf). The inductive clamp is not shown but it is included too. Everything is in extremely clean condition. I've used virtually every manufacturer's locator and the 501 is definately the easiest and most reliable in the business.
