A boring head is basically and adjustable tool holder. Its purpose is to bore precision holes in a variety of sizes from already existing holes. The basic boring head is made up of three components the body, the bar holder and the graduated micrometer dial screw.
One division on the dial is a sensitive adjustment permitting controlled adjustments of .0005 or less. All parts of this head are hardened and all working surfaces are ground.
