Based microcomputer with combines digital and analog techniques make this encoder produce clean sound and perfect separation without any adjustment.
To test Pilot phase for this encoder, out of phase 50 Hz tone is used. This is the classic L Equals Minus R signal and will produce a pattern on an oscilloscope connected to the composite output as shown on following picture:
