Captured pivot pins, all the surfaces that move do so on a layer of lubricant. The pins do not rotate, only the greased cylinder ends and the Oilite Bronze bushings on the grapple arms, rotate on the fixed, hardened pins. Oil cushioned Oilite Sintered Bearings are fabricated from metal powders and contain approximately 18% oil (by volume). This vacuum impregnated oil supplements the strong, pure bronze structure and forms a hydraulic cushion to absorb unusual shocks and impacts, allowing the bearing to carry heavy loads. Photobucket
Self-lubricating Oilite bearings are separated from the shaft by a protective film of oil. The oil is supplied through thousands of interconnected, oil impregnated pores. Oil rises to the bearing surface when the shaft is in motion and is reabsorbed by the bearing through capillary action when the shaft is idle. This allows superior durability with minimal maintainence.
2" x 8" Welded 3000 PSI cylinders are built tough. Each capable of exerting over 11,500 lbs. of force, these no nonsense cylinders have the power to hold on. No agriculture tie rod cylinders here, these are fully welded cylinders with grease zerks!
Grapple arms and bucket side gussets are Grade 80, that's 80,000 lb. tensile strength, not the less durable A36 on these durable tools.
Grapples operate independently, conforms to any shape material! The solid steel back keeps everything from "racking" or bending, as well as keeping the bad stuff from popping through and entering the operator compartment. This is integrated into the heavy duty 3/8" Quick-Tach mounting plate. This design eliminates flexing and distortion of the tool, thus promoting long life of the cylinders and other components.
The no-skid step doubles to create a protective channel for the hoses to run through, preventing damage to hoses while in use. Comes complete with hoses and quick couplers!
