LIKE NEW - ONLY SHORTLY AND LIGHTLY USED, IN A HIGH-PURITY VACUUM ENVIRONMENT, AS AN INTERFACE BETWEEN A UHV VACUUM CHAMBER AND A VARIAN TURBO PUMP
This is a high-conductance elbow with internal cooling, and a cryogenic pump element mounted on the side. It is ideal as an element between a high vacuum pump (turbo, cryo) and a large vacuum chamber that needs fast turnaround (opening to air, closing etc.). Both the internal water cooling of the elbow itself, and the cryogenic cooling of the cry coil in the chamber prevent most of humidity from reaching the vacuum pump. That speeds up the process enormously.
The Polycold cryogenic element was used with the patented Polycold liquid. We are not really sure if it could also be used with liquid nitrogen.
