They can be used for regular or decaf coffee. The orange rubber sleeve on the handle of the decanters are removable. No need for worry when you break the one and only decaf pot. Just slip the orange sleeve on another decanter and life goes on. No need to back stock both types of decanters. These pots are not made for open flame or range top heating of any kind.
