The Install Profiler series offers a unique solution to the changing needs of today's evolving broadband networks. An operator with an analog system can start out with a basic CM100 IP signal level meter and upgrade to a CM250 IP digital SLM with MER and BER measurement capability to accommodate new digital video services. Or upgrade to a CM500 IP digital SLM with MER, BER and Cable Modem test capability to accommodate new high-speed Internet services. Easily upgradeable, the Install Profiler series provides an economical growth strategy to maximize your return on investment.

Carrier Level Tilt & Peak to Valley
* The CM100 IP provides automated analog and digital signal level measurements, including spectrum scan and digital signal power levels.
* The CM250 IP provides automated analog and digital signal level measurements, plus MER and pre FEC BER and post FEC BER measurements on 64QAM or 256QAM digital carriers.
* The CM500 IP provides automated analog and digital signal level, MER and BER digital measurements and verifies the drop for a DOCSIS cable modem installation.
All three models utilize "SMART" (Selectable Measurement Automated Routine Tests) one-button automated tests with programmable pass/fail limits to ensure safe operating parameters are met, without interfering with the network's normal operation.
The Install Profilers provide up to four test locations, each with its' own set of programmable tests and Pass/Fail limits. Once the tests are selected and the limits are programmed, via the PC500 software program, the user may select Tap Check, Ground Block Check, Set-Top Check or Cable Modem Check (CM500 IP only) to initiate the automatic test routine.
Utilizing PC software, the programmer may select the appropriate channel table, check off the desired tests and enter the Limits criteria for each location. The programmer may also enable additional test result Detail screens to aid the user in troubleshooting the drop system. Once a configuration is developed, multiple units can be cloned using the same configuration file, ensuring consistency among the entire workforce.
Each "SMART" test provides a simple Pass/Fail display indicating the outcome. An overall Pass/Fail indication is displayed in the upper left corner of the display, with individual Pass/Fail analysis of the analog, digital and cable modem tests, depending on the model in use.
The Install Profiler's manual SLM mode includes a full complement of comprehensive analog and digital measurements. The manual SLM mode provides state-of-the-art Signal Level Meter measurement, data storage and result analysis, making it a true "One Meter Solution," ideal for installing and testing analog and digital drop networks.
Eliminate Ingress, Noise and CPD in the return. The return path is often the most challenging portion of the network. The Install Profiler offers the simplest semi-automated test method for testing and troubleshooting the return path. The Return Spectrum option will measure "bursty" CDMA return signals, intermittent ingress, noise and CPD (common path distortion) at three programmed or user selectable frequencies. Simply set the markers and the Install Profiler does all the work, reading out the carrier level of TDMA signals, CPD or ingress, C/I ratio and C/N ratio.
The Install Profiler can also display a summary of the test results for each of the "SMART" tests that it performs. If enabled, easy to interpret color bar graphs provide a summary of the measurements and the Pass/Fail Limits on an auto-ranging scale. Detail screens are provided for each active group of measurements (analog, digital and cable modem, coinciding with the model in use).
Detail screens can be accessed to view bar graphs of the test results if the programmer has allowed access.
