Film winder 28" to 48" wide, 1 hp ac motor, 40 fpm

Beautiful Film, Paper, Nonwoven Winder
Japanese built, very heavy duty construction. This machine is currently set up to run 6" diameter cores, with an auto air expanding driven chuck on one side, and a non expanding non driven chuck on the other side. Air to the chuck is piped through a rotary union to a solenoid valve in the control panel. It looks like it was controlled through a on/off selector switch on the control panel.
Both chucks move side to side for roll loading and unloading, and for adjusting to different roll widths. As a result it can run from a 28" wide core to a 48" wide core on the same centerline without any difficulty. The width adjustment is through pneumatic cylinders mounted in the base.
The winder also has side lay adjustment with a hand crank to allow moving the entire winder 2" left or 2" right to compensate for off center cores, or to adjust the centerline. 4 Floor mounted tracks are included for mounting the winder.
The winder is driven by a 1 HP 3600 rpm AC motor, with a 138:1 speed reduction. By my calculations that makes the max speed with a 6" core about 40 fpm. With pulley size changes, or gear reducer changes, the max speed should be easily adjusted much higher than this. I think that you will want a frequency AC drive for this motor to be able to have good speed adjustment.
The control panel is still complete pneumatically, and all the control buttons and switches are in place. It looks like the plc or remote I/O rack has been removed from the panel, so some control work will be necessary to get this winder back up and running.
This winder came out of a development lab that was decommissioned. We have a second identical winder, and three similar unwinds which I will list separately. There are also static control systems, and tension rolls for this line that will also be listed separately. If you have any questions feel free to ask
Photos of the winder at it's wides and narrowest adjustment:
Width adjustment wheel on left, sidelay adjustment on right
Details of the sidelay adjustment, the sidelay wheels under the frame, and the floor mounting plate 1 of 4 shown:
Minimum core width is about 28", maximum core width is about 48", core id is about 6"
Motor is 0.75KW 1 HP 3 phase, with separately powered fan, and inline 138:1 SEW Eurodrive gear reducer.
Chuck is driven by timing belt, and air is supplied to chuck through a rotary union
Control panel is in good shape, all pneumatics are intact. Controller or remote I/O rack has been removed.
There are no motor controls or motor drives on this machine, some controls work will be necesary to recommision.
