Black bakelite / paxolin sheet 15CM x 13CM x 3MM

Black Bakelite / Paxolin Sheet approx 15.6cm x 13cm x 3mm
I am not entirely sure what this material is. I initially thought that it was paxolin, but there are no sign of any laminations when looking at the edges which would indicate that it is not a material such as Paxolin, SRBP etc. I carefully scraped away a very small amount of the material from one corner along one edge, the scraping's were light brown in colour and had a very slight SRBP/Phenolic resin sort of smell. The material exposed by the chips along the edges (caused when the sheet was sawn up during manufacture) is paler than the surface or edges of the sheet. When I hold the sheet up to the light at the correct angle, the surface reflection is slightly bumpy (though it is smooth to the touch), it does not have the glass like surface that would be expected from Acrylic or other plastics.
Although the sheet is NOS, one surface appears to have some sort of residue or flaw in the surface down the edges and at one end, the other side has a similar fairly large flaw at one end, I do not think that it can be removed. The sawn edges of the sheet are also very slightly chipped, but this is probably unavoidable with this type of material. I took the photograph using a flash to try and show up these belmishes.
The unpacked weight of the item is about 100g
