Position yourself properly to task! A kneeling chair will help you to obtain a better postural position in the lower back when working for long periods of time while sitting. One of the benefits with kneeling chairs is that your sitting position and body angle remains 90 degrees or wider when you lean inward. This helps in keeping your back straight and your spine in a perfect alignment. The chair will reduce the stress and tension in your lower back and leg muscles. One big misinterpretation about kneeling chairs is that while sitting in a kneeling chair, the knees bear most of the body's weight. This is not correct!! The kneeling chair does not really bear weight on the knees but instead distributes the weight bearing between the hips and the shins what reduces some of the weight of sitting on the lower back. Kneeling chairs tilt your thighs and hips at about a 160 to 170 degree angle, which allows you to take pressure off your spine and assume more weight in your shins. The knee rests of the chair will keep you from sliding forward out of the chair and losing the optimum sitting position thus again, hurting your back. Even part of the day spent in a kneeling chair will result in better posture than in a traditional chair. A kneeling chair will insure you are always properly positioned to task whether it's in the office or at home.
