Verson 15 ton 4' mechanical press brake

I purchased this press sometime ago from a private company that does research work for the Navy. I was told it had seen little use and - though the paint is in poor shape - the condition of the machine backs that up.
It is a mod. 16-48 press. It has a 3/4 hp electric motor that can be wired to run on 110 or 220 V, single phase. Presently it is wired for 110 and has a square d safety switch and pushbutton starter.
As you can see from the pictures, the machine is in good mechanical shape. The blocks the ram travel on show almost no wear. The teeth on the gears are still sharp. The strap for the brake shows little wear. The clutch has plenty of take-up left.
The platen is made of aluminum. The fingers are made of steel. The mechanism works as it should.
The lower bed is the optional flanged unit. It greatly expands the usefulness of the machine.
The gear guard has been replaced by a shop made one. Does its job fine.
If you have been looking for one of these, then this is the one. It is very nice. And if you'd like to come by and see it in action, then let me know and we'll work out a time.
