Cd v-742 bendix pocket dosimeter working cdv 742 CDV742

If you work with radiation or are simply a collector, this inexpensive and yet handy item is for you. It's a radiation dosimeter, and it measures the amount of radiation exposure you have received in total, unlike a Geiger counter, which measures the rate of radiation per hour. Therefore, if the Geiger counter says forty millirems per hour, you will need to leave a dosimeter in the area for five hours to get a reading of two hundred millirems.
This item needs a charger, which is sold separately, but is also inexpensive. Here are instructions for measuring the amount of radiation:
Point the tip of the dosimeter (which has a metal connector) at a source of light. Look through the other end. The needle of the dosimeter (somewhat like a speedometer) will point to the accumulated radiation count.
To charge, you need a charger compatible with the plug on the tip of the dosimeter. Put the dosimeter on the charger, and rotate the dial until the dosimeter reads zero, at which time you can re-use it.
As these have been used, heavily it seems, there are flakes and scratches on the cases of these instruments. You mustn't let that stop you from considering this item-all of these work impeccably.
