It's my understanding that a joint venture was formed between my friend who is a very talented marketer and business man and an ingenious optical engineer from Russia. The engineer needed money for equipment to develop and provided the knowledge to create fiber optic collimators with a high degree of precision and repeatability. After the product development period and the success of the project began to show with some very large purchase orders the engineer demanded nearly a million US dollars to produce parts for the first year. (he most likely watched too much American TV)
This lot and amount of equipment we are offering will allow someone to bypass these costs and begin producing these for immediate resale. This being said all the equipment is in perfect condition and ready to be used in your new projects. I estimate that over 50k was spent on fixtures, several lasers, lenses, machining, breadboard, mounts, meters, measuring equipment etc... I have seen receipts and it is pretty astonishing what was spent on this equipment. Even just in parts, your money is well spent at pennies on the dollar.

As painful as it is to let it all go this cheaply the current owners are happy to see it go to an individual or an institution that will use it to make their economy better and make it much easier for companies to acquire these highly sought after collimators.
