As beloved by her family and friends as she is by the millions of kindred souls who cherish her insights from afar, Flavia is indeed a very real person. And yes, Flavia is her real name. A striking woman of gentility, grace and authenticity, she was named after a princess in the novel Prisoner of Zenda.
With a youthful air that belies her age, Flavia exudes a gypsy-like charm within her inspiring and soothing demeanor. Often found telling fanciful stories to children and adults alike while donning worn levis sparkly slippers and numerous bangles upon her wrists, Flavia's animated charisma and free-spirited attitude clearly celebrate her enthusiasm for life. Yet it is Flavia's warmth, her love of people, her faith in God and the human spirit that truly defines the woman she is.
How and when did she get started?
Flavia began writing and illustrating stories when she was a very young child, but it became her profession in the early '60's and has been her passion ever since.
