Rare A.I. Root Daisy Foundation Fastener for Beekeeper
Here offered for all you Beekeepers out there that like to collect vintage and antique beekeeping equipment is an original late 1800's or early 1900's Daisy Foundation Fastener made by the A.I. Root Co. Owned and so marked in 2 places by a gentleman named F.E. Bell of Ethel , Macon County , Missouri. The tool even has the original instructions fixed to one side. They are readable but tattered abit.
Interestingly the tool which is appx 35" tall x 5 1/4" wide and 9 1/4" in closed position also had a small oil burning lamp fixed in the area that is cut out on an angle and that would heat up the plate that was just above it sufficiently warm enough to melt beeswax.
