Lapmaster cp-2 monochromatic inspection light box lamp
Portable Monochromatic light source manufactured by John Crane. Used for testing flatness using an optical flat to detect interference patterns. I believe this unit supports flats up to 6" in diameter. Approximately 11 x 8 x 7". 'The CP-2 has a serpentine Helium light tube that emits a pinkish light at 0.0000232" wavelength.'
Quite a handsome case, everything is superb condition. Even all the rubber feet are all there. Cord and switch condition is immaculate. Please note that no flats come with this unit. I used two ordinary microscope stage plates to test and photo. As you can see in the next to last photo, they are not as flat as they appear ordinary light and it it much harder without a unit such as this to identify the interference patterns. The last photo shows the 'serpentine' helium bulb.
Flip-top opens and locks in place. Carry weight is approximately 15 pounds. Similar to VanKeuren units.
