1963 lowboy ihc farmall cub tractor needs work ks mower

We took it apart a couple weeks ago and put rings and rod bearings in it and exhaust valves.
there is a kub klipper belly mower that goes with it has some welds on it but still worked
We tried to start it and we think there is a timing issue, it pops when it is truning over We do not have time to mess with it anymore.
The tractor is original 6 volt.
All there except exhaust pipe.
the hood is just setting on tractor
The sheet metal is straight except top outside edge of hood, should straighten easily dont see any welds on tractor
the brakes work as do the clutch
The trans seems good and solid.
The starter turns the engine over.
Has oil pressure when turning over.
Tractor is located 10 miles southwest of Yates Center, KS.
Yates Center is 100 miles east of Wichita or 120 miles southwest of Kansas City.
