Please read the following information which could Save You Money:
Many used coin counters and currency counters consist of old, out dated, & often obsolete equipment that has already been removed from working service by the previous user.
Additionally, the fact is, many of these counters are often discarded when a large company such as a bank, a Sears store, a JC Penny, a supermarket, or another "high use" location decides that they are tired of the unit needing repetitive servicing and not working properly. Many of these used counters have been in use for many years and now represent obsolete models!
You should also be aware that many of these resellers have no idea what condition their equipment is actually in.
Some of the tell tale signs that you should look for follows:
This one was tested and works Great.
Unfortunately, often the seller has only turned on the counter and it seemed to power up. The seller usually has not "properly" tested the counter under multiple conditions to confirm without a shadow-of-doubt that the counter is working properly and accurately!
This machine sorts pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, and counts them according to denomination "or" this currency counter sorts the currency.
WRONG!!! This represents another example from misstated sales pages where the sellers represented that the counter actually "sorts." We have noticed that many times a used machine seller states that their counter is a sorter but it actually is just a counter and requires the operator to "pre-sort" the coins or currency. Don't pay for a sorter unless you know that you are getting a sorter! Most of the currency counters, and many of the coin counters do not have a sorting feature. If an ad states that their counter also sorts, look for proof of it in one of the pictures, for instance a currency sorter will have more than one exit pocket that the money would be sorted into and a coin sorter also would have a second separation section.
Formerly used by a casino. Has fold away carry handle, counterfeit detector, multi-denomination calculator, multi-mode/features. Tested & working.
In this case, the fact that it was formerly used by a casino should tell you the whole story...this counter was heavily used day in and day out for many years and is probably worn out. Why do you think the casino replaced it?
I have tried this out and it powers up and acts like it's ready to go. I have no paperwork so I don't know how to use.
Unit appears to be in very good condition. I have put money through all counts and machine worked with no problems.
Plug in lights up and grabs the bills, don't know much more on how to use one, comes with manual you get what's in picture (from a Surplus vendors).
They are easily cleaned with a small brush and alcohol. But ..... if you are going to use it very
much, I would suggest that you replace the rubber inserts.
Avoid using alcohol to clean the rubber parts!!! Alcohol can often destroy the rubber and should be avoided. There are other chemicals available to clean the rubber components that won't risk damaging them. Watch out for the high cost to have it serviced!
This is a neat device, I can't make it count, but lights come on and it beeps.
It's a good bet that this counter needs to be fixed and could cost $250, $400, $500 or more to be serviced!
This is an older currency counter. I have been using it daily for the last 5 years. It works perfectly when it is clean. The rubber inserts in the wheels are getting old and a bit gummy. This makes them collect dirt faster than normal.
This was a quote from a seller that attempted to give a little more information than many sellers will disclose. This seller is being a little bit more detailed in disclosing the true condition of his counter. What he didn't tell you is that when the feed wheels are old and gummy, the counter needs to be serviced and this type of serve could cost "hundreds of dollars" to replace the feeding wheels and rubber components and after the parts are replaced, you still own a used and often outdated machine that other things can continue to break down, because of it's age. By the time you add up what you paid for it and the service costs, you could have bought a brand new counter from us, often at a lower price!!!
You should also be aware that parts are not always available for some of these older counters. We have seen used counters where the manufacturer is out of business or the counters are so old that you may have great difficulty getting them serviced!!!
These are just some of the misstatements or inaccurate & incomplete representations that are made by sellers of used equipment.
Why take a gamble with used equipment when we are offering highly discounted new equipment at like used pricing!!!
Some of the counters are for brands that are no longer in business. Many do not even include operating instructions.
