Manfactured for British Telecom as their part number LEA84, these are a very useful and lovely quality 40 way cable connection / junction box.
The tight fitting lid and cable entries make this product weather and splash proof (not water proof).
Designed to be used for signal cables, but the brass terminal connectors look to be good for 2.5mm cables and in comparison to mains wiring junction boxes, I would say about 20Amps.
Dimensions are roughly 28mm long by 15mm wide by 40mm deep.
