The Drake MN-2700 manages rf radiation in the areas of impedance match to the antenna, rf power measurement, VSWR measurement, reduction of harmonic radiation, and antenna selection.
The Drake MN-2700 is a precision instrument providing RF radiation control and measurement for your communication system. The MN-7 covers 160 through 10 meters. It matches antennas fed with coax, balanced line, or random wire. Included is the optional Drake B-1000 balun which is mounted to the rear panel of the MN-2700.
Front panel controls allow for Fine adjustment of resistive and reactive tuning- antenna switching (with by-pass), band switching, VSWR calibration and selection of watts or VSWR functions of the meter. This Tuner can handle 2000 watts PEP, 1000 watts average. The meter is calibrated to 200 and 2000 watts.
* Continuous 160 thru 10 Meters Coverage With WARC and MARS coverage.
* Antenna Choice-Matches antennas fed with coax, balanced line, or random wire.
* Optional Drake B-1000 Balun, which mounts on rear panel of MN-2700.
* Antenna By-pass Switching-Unique design allows unit to be switch-by-passed regardless of which antenna is in use, whether coax or wire type. No need to manually disconnect feed lines. Switch also selects various antennas.
* Extra Harmonic Reduction to help fight TVI-Drake Matching Networks employ special "pi-network" low-pass filter type circuitry for maximum harmonic rejection. This feature alone makes the MN-2700 a worthwhile investment; it is a Drake exclusive.
* Built-in Metering-Accurate rf wattmeter/VSWR bridge.
Power Capability-2000 watts PEP min, Legal Limit average, Continuous Duty.
* 13.09"W x 4.53"H x 13"D including connectors (33.26 x 11.5 x 33 cm);
Cosmetically, I would rate this item a strong "9", the pictures speak for themselves; to get a "10" , it would have to be in "Mint Condition". Internally and electrically, this item is in excellent condition; all switches work, the meter is spot on with my Bird Meter. The inside components looks as new as the day it was constructed. This antenna tuner has served me well, it is 100% operational.
