Retractable static discharge grounding reel SD11 series
Appleton Electric Company Static Discharge Reel.Used for safety grounding during refueling. Model number SD-11Y. Single wire with "y" lead model. 35 ft of single 3/32" galvanized steel cable which branches out to two 15 foot lengths, each furnished with grounding clamps. Total reeling capacity if 50 ft. These reels have been sitting in our warehouse forsome time. They have never been used. However the epoxy paint is bubbling on the back. They still remain very functional.
SD Static Discharge Reelites are used for grounding portable machines or equipment operating in hazardous atmospheres. These Reelites safely dissipate static electrical build-up and reduce the chance of a spark and resulting explosion. SD Series Reelites are spring-driven and carry various lengths of wire cable with grounding clamps. They are applied to fuel-transfer trucks, barges, dockside-loading facilities, grain-ele-vators, hazardous maintenance-areas or wherever flammable liquids or combustible dust is present. Maximum DC resistance through Reelite and cable is approximately one ohm for each 50 feet of 3/32" steel aviation control cable. On Reelites carrying 14 gauge, stranded, rubber- covered, copper cable, maximum DC resistance is approximately 0.15 ohms per 50 feet of cable.
Lightweight, compact, enclosed, all-steel construction. 50 foot single or Y-type cable lengths in 3/32" galvanized steel aviation con-trol cable with or without nylon gasket. 100 amp universal jaw-type ground-ing clamp. Gravity-type ratchet. Mounts on ceiling, wall or with base down to a clean, unpainted conductive surface to assure positive electrical continuity through frame.
