These are unroasted Raw Green Coffee beans for the home or commercial roaster. The Tanzanian Peaberry is a very special bean. Lets see why: Most coffee trees produce cherries with two seeds. (Typically, the coffee cherry grows two halves of a bean within a single cherry.) Occasionally, cherries will produce only one seed, known as a peaberry. These special coffee beans are slightly smaller then the norm, but pack a more concentrated flavor.
The Tanzanian Peaberry is a shade-grown coffee cultivated on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. It has many of the same fruity flavor notes as a Kenya, with a lighter acidity. We suggest that you roast this bean to the City Roast level (medium light) to bring out the complex origin flavors of this great bean.
