New he-3 neutron detectors, vehicle portal monitors,
These TSA VM-250N vehicle portal monitors are used for detection of SNM (Special Nuclear Material), and other neutron emitting sources. Each system consists of two 66" tall, 42" wide, 9" deep metal cabinets which can be placed up to 17' apart for standard use. Each pair of cabinets are configured as a master and slave. None of these cabinets we are selling have been installed for use, and therefore have none of the requisite holes drilled to pass the master/slave umbilical through. These are new unused systems. You can see the umbilical in the photos, routed through the door openings when we performed a functionality test of the first system. The system booted up perfectly, performing a standard background check, etc..
When the portal is not occupied, the system will automatically monitor background radiation and periodically update a visual display on the controller. When a vehicle enters the portal, the system begins fast count monitoring and will alarm if the count exceeds a predetermined alarm level. The system will also alarm if the background radiation level exceeds or falls below preset limits.
If your interest is strictly in the proportional tubes, you may wish to consider 16 more tubes that we have available. They are the same diameter but about 12" shorter, and pressurized with the same P4 Gas mix, but to 4 ATM. These are offered at $6,000 each. Email for more information, please.
